Levy Brown M.Sc.
Mr. Levy Brown is dean of Arts & Sciences at Lenoir Community College and an adjunct instructor of College Transfer Success. Brown previously served as associate vice president of Student Services and Enrollment Management at Brunswick Community College. As AVP, Brown provided leadership to the areas of admissions, registration, financial aid, new student orientation, tutoring, and other student support areas.
Mr. Brown has also served as dean of student services at Lenoir Community College which enabled him to demonstrate sound administrative skills over all student services/affairs departments at the institution. He has also served as director of cooperative education and secondary alliances at Pitt Community College. Brown focused on building high school partnership programs and managing the cooperative education process. Prior to joining the North Carolina Community College System, Mr. Brown worked in enrollment management and student affairs at East Carolina University.
Mr. Brown most recently completed the Dr. Barbara Sizemore and Dr. Asa G. Hilliard III 8th Annual Institute on African Americans in Education sponsored by the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Further, he completed the North Carolina Community College System Leadership Program in 2013. Brown is also a 2013 recipient of the Making A Difference Award sponsored by the Hazel B. Neal Scholarship Committee. Additionally, Brown was also a Treasured Pirate Award recipient in 2006. This award is given to outstanding student affairs professionals at East Carolina University.
Mr. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from East Carolina University, Greenville, NC; a masters in library science from North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC; and is currently completing an EdD in educational leadership (higher education) at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC.
